Dog paws are exposed to various stresses every day. Freezing temperatures, dry air, road salt, hot asphalt, and rough surfaces can dry out and wear down the pads. Frequent washing can also dry out the skin on the paws. Regular paw care helps keep the pads soft, flexible, and in good condition all year round.

The most important thing when treating dry paws is to both moisturize and protect the pads. Las Balmas paw serum provides the skin with moisture and nourishing ingredients, while paw wax forms a protective layer on the surface of the paws. You will achieve the best results by using the products together: apply the serum first and finish the treatment with the paw wax.

The functions of the paw serum and paw wax complement each other. The paw serum moisturizes and nourishes, making it especially suitable for dry and rough paw pads as well as dry skin. The paw wax, in turn, protects the paws from external stress and helps prevent the skin from drying out.

Think of them as a two-step skincare routine: first moisturizing, then protection.

The need for paw care depends on the dog, the season, and the condition of the paws. Dry paw pads can be treated regularly about once a day as part of the dog's normal grooming routine, and usage can be increased when the paws are subjected to extra strain, for example during freezing temperatures or dry weather.

It is a good idea to monitor the condition of the paws regularly – soft and supple paw pads withstand daily wear and tear better than very dry and rough ones.

Paw serum is designed not only for paws but also for the topical treatment of dry skin. It is therefore suitable for situations where the dog has, for example, dry areas of skin that need a moisturizing and nourishing product.

However, if the skin shows severe redness, inflammation, broken skin, or other worrying symptoms, the cause should be investigated with a veterinarian.

Dry and rough paw pads can crack over time, which is why regular paw care is important before problems arise.

If your dog's paw has an open or deep wound, bleeding, inflammation, severe pain, or the dog is limping, you should take the paw to a veterinarian. Cosmetic paw care products are not intended for treating open wounds.

With paw products, it is natural that a pet might try to lick their paws after application. You should use the amount indicated in the instructions and allow it to absorb undisturbed. A good time for paw care is, for example, in the evening when resting, at which point you can direct the pet’s attention elsewhere for a moment.
