Hello,

I'm Hanna Ahopelto, the founder of Las Balmas. I have an adorable miniature poodle named Manu, who is a strong part of the company. Manu plays an important role right from the start of the company's development, as the first product was developed specifically for his paws. Our poodle logo also reminds us of Manu.

The idea for Las Balmas originated from my interest in natural cosmetics. What I particularly value about natural cosmetics is how natural ingredients can be utilized in skin care for both humans and animals. Natural cosmetics reduce the amount of highly processed chemicals exposed to the skin. Nature offers the most wonderful ingredients for skin care for both humans and animals.

Previously, my dog's paws were dry, and especially in winter, very rough. I decided that something had to be done to get Manu's paws in good condition. I tried many products, but they weren't quite what I was looking for. They were either too light, too heavy, or had a strong scent. I also wanted the product to be safe for my dog, and I preferred natural cosmetics because natural ingredients would be less processed.

I made my own lip balm, which later developed into the idea of trying it on my dog's dry paws. After several weeks and months of research and development, I managed to create a product that was just right. I also received help from a cosmetics professional. After just three weeks, paws that were previously very dry, rough, and even cracked were healthy and soft.

We also want to offer products made from high-quality and safe ingredients for our important animal friends. Pets are very important to us, so why wouldn't we offer them quality too? The goal is also to raise awareness about paw welfare, so that many pets can have healthy paws to walk on.
